And now: My Diary... - Some bare facts from my barefoot life...

Some nice comments I received during my barefoot years from passers-by so far...

"Look, Gramps, that man's barefoot...!" - "Yes, he's walking the healthy way...!"
A young girl to her grandfather and him responding as I passed them in my bare feet.

"I think it's quite courageous and unique what you do... I'd like to try it too, but people of my age group are forced into buying wearing fancy sports shoes by peers, advertising and fashion..."
A 16-year-old, seeing my bare feet in the subway, and asking me about it... his friends were giggling at me... he was truly interested. (And after my repsonses and his comments, they were suddenly silent and giggled no longer... ;))

Woman on subway (barefoot, punk-hippie-mix outfit): "Wonderful to see another no-shoes person..."
Me: "Yeah, I thought I was the only one in this town...!"
Her (smiling): "So did I... Happy to see, that I was wrong!"

Hippie/punk woman at the 1998 Moers Jazz Festival and me, standing barefoot at a sales stand...
Me: (grinning) "Hey, cool shoes you got there!"
Her (looking down at my barefeet, grinning back) "Yeah, just as cool as yours... hey, and I love those rings, and the leather anklet with the beads... And, boy, you got large feet, too... see how large mine are...?"
Both of us looking at our feet, then compared the size... a giggle from both of us, seeing that we both had same-sized feet...
