Terms or classifications like "mainstream" or "pop artist" are surely not quite right to describe the musical and lyric art of Kate Bush. However, if you translate 'pop' as it is meant to be... meaning: popular, it fits. However, what we might call pop music is not always what Kate Bush makes. Expect the unexpected when listening to her music. Her styles arch over the extremes... and her bare feet truly mark her uniqueness in that respect as well... it is her style... it's as simple as that, really.
