Being a foot jewelry model...

...presenting my favourite way to adourn my bare feet:

There have been numerous discussions on barefoot-themed web forums and mailing lists, whether it is OK for a man to adourn his bare feet with anklets, toe rings or even nail polish, since these accessories are traditionally associated with barefoot girls and women.

Some people might think that it is too feminine or even "gay" for a man to wear such jewelry and enhance barefoot styling this way.

I have come to love it as an optical booster, making it clear that I am barefoot intentionally and by choice. And since people are staring at my bare feet anyway, I give them something extra to stare at this way.

Furthermore, my favourite outfits in my spare time are of hippie origin, often including skirts, sarongs or kaftans, thus being less than typically male - but befitting my personality.

So, here's a little collection of my foot adournment photography...
...perhaps a nice way to introduce myself as a prospective male barefoot foot and toe jewelry model, too.

Toe rings, anklets and skin drawings, combined with wearing an orange sarong

On my right foot, I applied an OM symbol, a tribal sun and a dot pattern with a red marker.
This is the toe ring and color chart on the nail polish used in this set of pictures:

Presenting my new toe ring collection:

All rings are made of 925 sterling silver, three of them painted with enamel and glitter. All rings are open, allowing for easy adjustment on different-sized toes, including my slightly knobby toesies...

These first pictures were taken indoors, in less than perfect lighting.

Here's the first outdoor picture, featuring two of my new toe rings, together with a little help by Mother Nature, adourning my right bare foot:

And an indoor shot (on carpet) of the same set, minus the daisy, of course:

Here's a new set of indoor shots, featuring only the newly purchased toe rings with matching toe nail polish.

Sadly, one damage report is to be made already... the dark pink enamel-painted toe ring (the one on the right in the first picture above) had a chip in the colour coating, making part of it flake and come off... Incidentally, this was the cheapest toe ring in the lot I've ordered, with a 50 per cent discount... I will try and repair it by re-applying the colour flakes with minuscule droplets of super-glue.

Visiting the X-mas season market in the neighboring city, I went to a sales stand offering clothing, jewelry, incense and other trinkets from India and Nepal - or, to put it in shorter terms: general hippie stuff.

I purchased some items there, which are fit to be worn as anklets, even though the original use of the two bands with the striped felt balls and the purple felt blossom is to bind back dreadlocks or long hippie hair in general. But no one said, that they have to be worn on someone's head only. On the right in this picture is a little DIY kit for a jingling bells anklet, consisting of a dozen small brass bells and a leather string. In the picture below you will see the finished product, after putting about 15 minutes of work into it:

And, of course, I just had to take some pictures combining my new felt anklets with the toe rings and the brightly-colored nails while feeling cool grass underfoot... the best backdrop for bare feet:

And here's my other foot and toe jewelry items:
