*) This is a so-called loop room... so don't panic, if you just can go north. Just go north, and you land back in the corridor... No death trap, just Magic :) (Or a lazy builder...? *ahem* *blush* Forget what you just read... :)))).
Another little thing: There is no real crossing on the 'Path Crossing', but rather north of it... so, it's either a misplaced or an unnecessary crossing... :)

**) According to my - perhaps premature - judgment, it's NOT very advisable to take this exit (and I didn't make it up, it is the exit from the corridor to the east!!).
