Welcome...
And, without further ado, let's get to the facts...:
Well, the name is a self-invented elfin name - I chose it for two different reasons:
What does that name mean, anyway...???
- The name contains the stem 'leet', which stands for 'healing, healer' in the ElfQuest universe, and I have an Immortal character named Strongbow on another MUD, who is borrowed, so to speak, from there...
- It is the name of a character I created in a GURPS role-playing round. Yes, I do classic role-playing, with pen and paper and dice! :o) And that character has a medical diagnosis and herb healing skill.
That is merely a reference to my former character (you came here from his page) and a sort of tribute... and people sometimes still wonder, whom it refers to.
...formerly known as Lion of Light?
Heh, now don't get mean here, OK..? *snicker* It's no matter of coin - actually, it refers to the preference of Mydleet's player to be barefoot (as in not wearing shoes, and walking barefoot) whenever, whereever he can (unintentional barefoot Shakira pun! *grin*) ... it just is healthier, feels good, and looks good (so he thinks..) - and if you wish to know more about that, just click here, to access the Barefoot Pages of Mydleet's player...
Alright... and what exactly does 'Barefoot' refer to...? Can't she afford any shoes, huh?
As far as Mydleet is concerned, well, her equipment entails wearing boots... but she does that only, since those boots are better for the AC and give some extra hit points.

OK, I admit, that was an attempt at throwing a pun... all kidding aside, here's another question: is Mydleet affiliated with any special group, like a clan, order or something...? Not as yet. She is mostly around to see others, raise her EXP level a little and walk around in her bare feet. She might join some order, perhaps, if there is an offer that appeals to her. - But that would be a spontaneous decision, and I really don't know, whether she would be in the mood for doing that at some point or not... let's just wait and see how it will unfold. :)

OK... since she is now your main and only character on RoM, why only this sub-page about her...? Why not ditch the Werevu page, and make this your main MUD page...? Well, to be honest, since he was the first character I ever created on a CircleMUD/Circle-basedMUD, I kind of am attached to him... *grin*. OK, it's true that the name 'Werevu' is not an original creation of mine, that I more or less 'borrowed' it elseMUCK (see the main page for details on what the name 'Werevu' stands for. :)), but still, he was the first character I created on a CircleMUD, and thus, and important part of my VR and RPing life... - even though he has now ceased to exist... *smile*

Now, the (almost) final question: after reading all this about the virtual life and such... don't get me wrong here, but don't you think that this role-playing and 'virtual reality' stuff and playing MUDs makes you appear like an immature, net-addicted nut-case???? Well, there you quoted the negative cliché about MUDs, MUDding and MUDders in general.
Of course, a MUD works differently as far as the interaction between the participants is concerned. It involves creating a persona - a character - a figure, call it whatever you wish, representing the player behind the keyboard. Whether the representation is reflecting the truth about the player, or not, depends on two things: the player's decision how to design the characer, and the MUD environment.
You see, MUDs are not generally just places to play, slay monsters, or incorporating the identity of a knight in shining armor, or a slobbering orc, or the most handsome elf there is to be found anywhere in the world of high fantasy! - MUDs are also used for educational purposes, or as system admin. tools (providing a platform to communicate in a room- and object-based environment) - there are many uses for them.True enough, there are things on the downside of MUDding, like the above mentioned negative clichés - but there's always two sides to such things... and I don't think that per se MUDs and MUDding are useless, and a waste of precious time and computer/'net resources. - However: it can be addictive, and one should always bear in mind, that there is a life away from the keyboard as well. :)

OK, now I see... you're just all bonkers! *grin* (just kidding!) - So, my final question: how will I be able to meet Mydleet, and also other characters like her...? Well, if you are especially interested in meeting Mydleet, and the other people on Realm of Magic, then you should just go back to Werevu's MUD Page (see the backlink below), and follow the links to RoM which are on there... (there are some scattered around the page...) - there is also the possibility to view the RoM Web Page, in order to get some information about that MUD first...
If you are interested in MUDding in general, and wish to see some resources on it, just go to Werevu's page as well... on the navigation panel at the top part of the page, you will find a link to general information about MUDs/MUDding. A click on that button will take you to a section of my big list of links, which is solely dedicated to 'Virtual Communities' (as MUDs are scientifically called...).
And if you wish to contact the player behind it all, you can of course send him some e-mail.
If you wish to see her current character status, just have a look at this:
|
You are a 206 year old female Elf Mage
about 1.6 m tall. Your birthday is The 4th Day of the Month of the Spring, Year 405.
You have 368(368)
hit, 642(642) mana
and 290(290)
movement points. |
Some more things have happened to the cute barefoot elf...
The death count has increased again, this time by her player not paying
attention to room descriptions well enough.
And then the elf drowned and lost her equipment.
But, with a little help from her friends, she got new equipment,
of which some has features, like e.g. detect alignment.
The good stuff requires the character to be really bad - or in case
of the MUD's alignment table best to be BaD
(Black as Death)
The mileage meter has gained a little, and: Mydleet is on her way to gain
a subclass, as she has mastered the mage class.
This time I have displayed the score as it would look like with ANSI colors
turned on in the MUD.
